On the face of it, doctors who render their services at a day spa, on an as needed basis seems like a profitable win-win idea for the day & medical spa communities.
I always thought doctors were very busy people, though. Do they have the time to leave their practice to serve at a local day spa?

Dear Aditi,
The State Board of Medicine has strict rules regarding where physicians may conduct their practice. Before a spa employs or contracts with a physician, they need to check with their State Board of Medicine to make sure that they are not violating their rules of conduct.
With respect to physician time, it's really all about "money". With the financial squeeze on physician fees/reimbursement by insurance carriers, physicians are looking for other revenue resources that are not encumbered by third party fee restrictions or limits. In that scenario, time is money!
